As per leaks, Huawei Mate 40 is 50% Faster than Mate 30. However, Huawei Mate 40 is still months far away from being launched but many leaks are there regarding the flagship device. Many leakers say that Huawei Mate 40 will be the first device in the world with 5nm SoC, the Kirin 1020.
As it is obvious from the name, the Kirin 1020 chipset will be the next-generation to the Kirin 990 SoC. Currently, Kirin 990 SoC is the latest and most advance chipset in the Huawei’s flagship. This newly developed SoC chipset will be built on the Taiwanese Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s EUV processor of 5nm. So, it is strongly expected that the 5nm EUV processor device will work 50% faster than the previously available Kirin 990 Huawei flagship devices.
It is being said that TSMC is possessing a large number of manufacturing facilities and will start production of 5nm chip on a massive scale in the first half of 2020. Initially, the company will start production of two versions of 5nm chip that are N5 and N5P.
Analysts say that N5 chipsets will bring a 15% overall improvement in the performance. It will improve power consumption by 30% and crystal density by 80%. On the other hand, N5P will be even 7% faster than the N5 chip. It will ensure 15% more power efficiency. During the current year, N5 will be produced in huge quantities. However, the production of N5P chipsets will begin next year.
Shipments of the said chips will start in the third quarter of 2020 and the iPhone and Huawei Mate 40 will be the first devices with 5nm chipsets.
